Civil Unions in NJ

New Jersey has started offering Civil Unions to lesbian and gay couples; they are also recognizing civil unions and marriages from other states.

All marriages are civil unions, except for marriages between corporations --the formal agreement to combine resources, (also known as mergers), a marriage of king and queen in the card game pinochle, a marriage in the antique trade of two furniture pieces to make one piece...marriage is not just between a man and a woman.

Unfortunately, same sex civil unions are not the same as heterosexual marriages, they do not have the same legal consequences, and thus, are same sex couples are burdened more than opposite sex couples. Separate name, still different legalities is not equality.
